Chief Judicial magistrate Cum Secretary DLSA Mewat Sh. NArendra Singh visited different villages to meet survivors of bride trafficking with Team EMPOWER PEOPLE NGO exclusively working on cause of Bride trafficking. Survivors of bride trafficking sought relief from the CJM and he assured to help them with all possible manners.
CJM feels that this cause needs more attention from the administration and social sector as large number of women are being sold and resold like commodity. He has plan to document such cases with EMPOWER PEOPLE and send it to Punjab and Haryana high court as well as supreme court and ask for developing some exclusive legal frame work which can directly address the bride trafficking.
He met a mother of 9 children who was thrown out of the house after her husband died who purchased her from a trafficker. She was barely 13 when she was trafficked from Jharkhand. She shared her fears and concerns with the CJM who assured her for safety and education of her children.
CJM also met some survivors and felt that district administration needs to understand agony of trafficked brides. He decided to organize a sensitization and open mike program for police and judiciary in the court premises in which a representation of bride trafficking survivors will address administration.
CJM promised to EMPOWER PEOPLE that he and the administration will always help in all possible manner.
Founder of EMPOWER PEOPLE Shafiq R khan thanked him for visiting survivors in their community and taking prompt action plan to give relief to survivors.
