In 2006 the organization started its initiation with a PadaYatra of three hundred kilometer against female feticide  in Haryana
In Census of India 2011 (Provisional Data), the worst decadal child sex ratio (0–6 years) since independence was recorded. For more information click here » » » Census 2011 Provisional Population . Sex Ratio Map of India, Haryana, Punjab

Though, many govt. and non- govt. organizations are working on the above issues and also many laws exist that are able to deal with the crimes of gender inequality. But it is also true that the ban or punishment to fuel the revolt and the problem keeps worsening secretly and this is also somehow true to these issues.
It has been observed that social organizations whether individually or govt. motivated often pressurize male population and somehow they ignite rebellion attitude among men. We have to make positive use of these attitude against gender inequality. we believe in engagement of male population to curb the injustice in the name of sex identity.  We are mobilizing people into a social movement against gender inequality &  sex selective abortion . EMPOWER PEOPLE is also working for engaging religious/ethnic leaders, community members and other stakeholders to eliminate the menace in Haryana and Punjab.  because they are most powerful in our society and we can't ignore them as stakeholder as a guardian of specific community or as human being.

The notorious belt for Female feticide (Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan) is our first target. By organizing several Padyatras (Marches) in several phases we are forming several committees of organizations, individuals against sex selective abortion, which are campaigning for the cause in their villages. they impugn on the issue in their village and share their opinion on equality.
Organization of local youths’ and businessmen’s committees are being form by organizing public meetings throughout the towns and institutions which will come onto the route of Padyatras or Marches. Those youths would be the commons, full of human sympathy and not only the temporary or permanent social workers, who would be able to lead the movements against sex selective abortion And Gender Inequality in the future and also, able to create social pressure against the various unsolved problems.

Objectives: At a National level, in keeping with Article 2 of the Indian Constitution which  enumerates the State obligation towards gender discrimination, the project shall strive towards the following at a local level:
1. A mechanism has to be created to change the patriarchal mindset of the society towards girl child or women. Until and unless, we change the mindset of the society, the status of women will not improve.
2. To establish cluster teams of community level stakeholders who are able to put a brake on female foeticide cases in communities and are simultaneously able to bring about attitudinal changes for pro-female preferences among families.
3. To strengthen the district level monitoring mechanisms and provide support, direction and guidance to cluster teams.
4. To provide a common platform to a wide range stakeholders in districts and through them develop and new and relevant policies.
5. To strategies on using learning as a tool for Policy Advocacy at the State level.
6. To empower women to reject and counter violence within the home and in society.
7. To make families, communities and the state responsible for and responsive to the growing violence against women.
8. To challenge and eliminate all forms of gender based discrimination.
9. To make systems and institutions of justice and governance accountable and transparent against sex selection.
10. To draw in all sections of society to strive towards a world free from all forms of violence and conflicts of female Childs.
11. To create alternative spaces and forum for public debate and dialogue to bring about attitudinal and institutional changes in our society.
12. To analyses, understand and make visible the clear connections between the development choices made and the current path of globalization that is leading
13. To the devaluation and destruction of the feminine in our cultures and the women in our societies.
14. To keep reviewing and renewing the challenges to the women’s movement – its politics and strategies – developing a space for dialogue and debate within the women’s movement.
15. To affirm women’s knowledge and wisdoms as also that of all marginalized and vulnerable communities.
