Happy New Year!
I wish you all the best in all your endeavours this year and may 2017 be another successful year for EMPOWER PEOPLE.
During 2016, we celebrated the completion of 10 years of our organisation and ot goes without saying that the efforts to reach the targets set for ‘BTSP’ should be continued in 2017.
It has been 10 years since we started working for the cause of bride trafficking. When I landed in Haryana first, all by myself, to explore the possibilities of working with trafficked brides, there wasn't anyone to even introduce me to the local people. Hence I take this opportunity to extend my thanks to the local population who not only welcomed me but provided all the support to make this day possible. I would like to thank the first person who came forward, Dinesh Gautam who then became the co-founder of EMPOWER PEOPLE. I would also like to thank my friend, Swami Vinod ji Maharaj of Dera Dhanna Jaat, who had been dedicatedly working against sex selective abortions and bride trafficking. Their support made me able to develop a team for our work and we got the opportunity to extend help to more than 12,000 trafficked brides and women in need, across Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan in all these ten years.
The start of a new calendar year, seems like an obvious time to talk about new beginnings.

Keeping in mind how our friends work in the field and also the need to have self-sustainability mechanisms in place for our beneficiaries, we have decided to launch an enterprise for us, which will ensure a good and ethical business for the cause.
Starting now, we shall dream about a self sustainable People's Co-operative to be celebrated in 2017 – the goals and targets to be enunciated as we kick start the campaign soon.
I thank you all for being there with us through thick and thin and would definitely wish for the same to continue as we grow further and reach our arms wider while growing new arms for dealing with the cause of bride trafficking as holistically as possible.
Let us all be Mahhan together!
